A seminar for Kaliningrad and German students studying at the Kaliningrad State Technical University as part of the programme of the Klaus Menert European Institute was held on Tuesday, June 28, in the conference hall of Regional Economic Development Agency.
The event took place within the framework of a European Studies course under the guidance of Dr. Gabriel K?tschau. Ms. K?tschau is very familiar with the Kaliningrad issues in the context of the EU enlargement and the development of Russian-European relations. Since September 2005, she for a long time held the position of the Director of the Secretariat of the Council of the Baltic Sea States.
Alexey Ignatyev, Director for Programme Work of Regional Economic Development Agency, suggested to formulate the topic of the discussion as "Kaliningrad Phenomenon and the Future of Europe", and outlined his views on these issues.
The seminar ended with a session of questions and answers, as well as a general discussion on the topic.
